  16. more than 35 years; in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Named
  17. president of the South African Rugby Board in 1956, Craven in
  18. 1988, at the age of 78, helped pave the way toward racial
  19. integration of rugby by meeting with the then banned African
  20. National Congress, incurring the wrath of the South African
  21. government.
